Verbる にも

Indicates that doing the verb is impossible or difficult, even if one wants to.

At a glance

Verbる にも means "even if I want to do it, I can't". It is used when something blocks an action you want or need to do.

[Verb dictionary form] にも [same verb, potential negative]

足あしが痛いたくて、歩あるくにも歩あるけない。 My leg hurts so much that even if I want to walk, I can't.

How to form it

Put the dictionary form before にも. After にも, the same verb usually comes back in the potential negative.

Verb group Before にも After にも (casual) After にも (polite)
う-verb 行いくにも 行いけない 行いけません
る-verb 食たべるにも 食たべられない 食たべられません
する 連絡れんらくするにも 連絡れんらくできない 連絡れんらくできません
来る 来くるにも 来こられない 来こられません

Politeness is shown only at the end of the sentence. The verb before にも stays in dictionary form.
