Yes! Nihondex works great on mobile devices as a PWA (Progressive Web App). On iOS (iPhone/iPad), you can use Safari's "Add to Home Screen" feature. On Android, you can install directly from Chrome or your browser. Desktop users can install from Chrome, Edge, or other modern browsers. Once installed, Nihondex works like a native app with offline capabilities. Native iOS and Android apps are also in development!
View Installation InstructionsAbsolutely! Nihondex is perfect for complete beginners. When you sign up, you'll go through an onboarding process that assesses your current Japanese level, sets up your personalized learning goals, guides you to start with kana (hiragana and katakana) if you're a beginner, and provides a learning roadmap that shows your path from basics to advanced. The app starts you with foundational kana practice and gradually introduces vocabulary, grammar, and kanji as you progress. You can learn at your own pace with content from JLPT N5 (beginner) all the way to N1 (advanced).
