How to form it
A and B are nouns. The pattern attaches to them like this:
| Part | What goes there | Example |
|---|---|---|
| A と | The first thing | 犬と |
| B と | The second thing. This と is optional. | 猫と |
| どちら / どっち | "Which (of two)". どっち is casual. | どちら |
| が | After どちら, before an adjective | どちらが |
| ~ですか | Polite question. Casual speech drops ですか. | 好きですか / 好き? |
Both Aと Bと どちらが~ and Aと B(、)どちらが~ are correct. The second と is often dropped in speech, and a comma is often written in its place.
