At a glance
そのうえ means "besides", "furthermore" or "on top of that". It starts a second sentence that adds another point in the same direction as the first.

How to form it
そのうえ goes at the start of the second sentence, usually followed by a comma. It does not change form. The two sentences decide how polite the whole thing is.

|---|---|---|
| Start of the second sentence | Polite | 静かです。そのうえ、駅にも近いです。 |
| Start of the second sentence | Casual | 静かだ。そのうえ、駅にも近い。 |
